Social Justice Advocacy

Description
MILPA’s advocacy work centers the leadership of formerly incarcerated and system impacted youth while working at all levels to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline, and create viable community based alternatives to incarceration. Our social justice advocacy works across many jurisdictions to rethink public health as the conduit for public safety and advocate for healthier communities. We build people power by training, mentoring, and organizing formerly incarcerated and system impacted leaders to understand, navigate, and advocate to change oppressive legislation, policies, and systems.
