COPS office funding from $148 Million to $1.3 Billion. This equates to hiring of 25,000 new police officers.  

1994

1994 Crime Bill & North American Free Trade Act laws are passed. Salinas Valley and Pajaro Valley are left in economic despair as thousands of jobs and factories are shipped overseas. Communities of color are criminalized as they navigate the shifting international political economy.
